  70 years of age and wearing specs that haven't really suited my vision for ages but I've soldiered on., until..... Got on the wrong bus the other day, thought it was the 410 to Godstone until, that is, we were en route to East Surrey Hospital!! That was it. Eye test. Thought I'd try a local Independent for a change from the 'Supermarket' retailers. EYEWORKS came into vison. Boy am I glad I went there. I found Julian (front of house) to be knowledgeable, informative and friendly. And Tony, the Optomotrist, (?) at the 'doings' end of things, spent as much time as I needed carrying out the test and afterwards explain to me exactly what was going on with my sight. I can't honestly recall such individual attention from those 'Supermarket' retailers. It was at this stage that everything became very clear (apart from my eyesight that is). The reason my sight isn't all that is Tony detected Cataracts in both my eyes. So now I know and I'm happy that I have a reason. I cannot say whether this has been missed by 'others' previously or not, but I don't really care now, at least I know what my problem is. Tony and Julian provided a most satisfactory and cost effective solution on the basis my sight could change any number of times until I have the corrective procedure. My new prescription lenses along with my pretty frugal new pair of specs were ready in just 5 days. Excellent. I picked them up today, got on the right bus home and can read the subtitles on my TV.
